It’s August and we’re all, hopefully, enjoying our summer holidays. It’s certainly been busy here with guests coming from far and wide to enjoy their escape in our luxury lodges, here in the great Mid Wales countryside we have here.

While we’re all focused on summer, it’s not a bad time to think ahead and consider our next escape. And with Autumn not that far away (sorry), what better than considering a short break holiday in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains at Luxury Lodges Wales?

While we all hope for the sunny weather in the summer, the autumnal climate can be amazing here in the countryside surrounding Trefeglwys, near Lanidloes in Powys.

The changing colours of the trees, the warm autumnal sun – and even if it’s raining it’s still amazing. The amazing scenery is just one reason to escape and visit Mid Wales for another important break.

The one good thing about what we have here in rural Wales is the abundance of natural beauty and the opportunity to just relax and unwind. Or for the more adventurous, undertake some fun outdoor activities – from cycling, mountain biking, walking, rally experiences, or visiting attractions such as the nearby National Trust Powis Castle.

But there’s also a lot of other events and activities taking place throughout the autumnal and winter period. Towns and communities throughout the area host everything from walking festivals to cider festivals.

Autumn Events

So let’s look at one or two of these. In nearby Montgomery, just up the road from us, there’s a walking festival taking place between Friday, 6 October and Sunday, 8 October.

Organisers promise a range of walks, including along the stunning Montgomery Canal, a five mile ramble along the Marches, to Hills, Vales and Trails – a challenging 22 mile walk.

Then there’s the majestic National Trust’s Powis Castle. It has several events during the autumnal months, including a Halloween Pumpkin Trail on 27 October and before that on Saturday, 9 September it’ll be free entry to everyone as part of the European Heritage Day. Yes, free entry. So that’s well worth it.

These are just two events taking place locally during October and we’ll keep you informed of others.
